The Art of Hanging Pictures (2002) is an interactive work that consists of a series of framed photographs in a variety of sizes, large and small, which are hung at various heights and angles across a wall. The images depict such things as empty streets and sports fields, emergency vehicles, a brick wall and a kitsch swan ornament, which are all perhaps images related to the life and environment of the woman and child portrayed in the largest photograph. The work deliberately possesses a fragmentary character, and visitors are free to rearrange the photographs to make their own compositions and narratives.
