glass bottle, cardboard box

The glass apothecary flask in Mirror Piece has been coated in layers of silver, copper and brown paint, with only a small area left unpainted. This lets the viewers look inside and see an iodine crystal. The flask is housed in a cylindrical cardboard box, on which a diagram is printed. All elements combine to comment on the flask’s significance as a metaphor (mirror) of the human mind.
