Untitled (Squirrel) is one of the remaining pieces of a legendary exhibition from 1991 called John Rollin Ridge, Zorro and the Joad Family Players at The Luggage Store in San Francisco. That show was a right after a law had recently passed by the U.S. Congress which obliged American Indian artists to obtain a certificate of their “Indian-ness” in order to be allowed to exhibit.
